BLACK GENESIS: THE PREHISTORIC ORIGINS OF THE PHARAOHS
by Robert Bauval
This talk is based on Robert Bauval’s forthcoming book, Black Genesis (co-authored with American physicist Thomas Brophy), in which scientific evidence shows that a 'lost prehistoric culture' in the Egyptian Sahara was the foundation of a civilization thousands of years before the pharaohs.
Robert Bauval was born in Egypt in 1948. He studied construction engineering in England and subsequently worked in the Middle East and Africa. In 1994 he wrote the best-selling The Orion Mystery followed by Keeper of Genesis - both have been translated into more than 20 languages.

ETHICS AND MORALITY: FOUNDATIONS OF A JUST SOCIETY
by Bhupendra Vora

The ancient Greek philosophers talked about a just society, where men lived nobly and the state governed equitably, with the welfare of its citizens as the cardinal principle. Harmony and happiness, taught the Stoics, are achieved by striving for virtue rather then pleasure. In modern times Mahatma Gandhi carried such a vision for a just society, a 'Ram Rajya' in which there was justice for all and absence of want. The modern welfare state was supposed to achieve a just and equitable society. Can such a society be realized?

LEVITATION & ANTI-GRAVITY (Theory only!)
by David Harvey

Have you considered how the giant stone blocks of Baalbek, the Pyramids and Stonehenge were lifted? And how some human beings, saintly and otherwise, levitate themselves? This lecture explores a range of mechanisms that might work, from counter-acting, shielding, nullifying or sidestepping gravity, and looking at the anomalies and red herrings. The ‘Navaz, or ‘Night-side of Nature’ forces are also considered.
David Harvey has been a member of the Theosophical Society since 1965 and is a Former President of Bristol theosophical branch and ex-Treasurer of the national organisation.

AWAKENING TO OUR TRUE REALITY

Each of us has the power to awaken to conscious living right now and in doing so feel the astounding spirit of source within. THE PRIMAL POWER OF SYMBOLS
by Tim Wyatt
-09b.jpg)
Words may communicate to our conscious minds but there is a much more potent force acting on the less accessible parts of our consciousness. In this lecture Tim Wyatt reveals how symbols represent a universal and primordial language which works powerfully on a subconscious level. The sign of the cross of the archetype of the hero have ancient significance. In the modern world the symbols inherent in brands and trademarks have the power to manipulate our behaviour - as do all symbols.
Tim Wyatt is an author, freelance writer and lecturer who has been exploring mysticism since the 1970s.

EXPLORING TIME AND ETERNITY
by Julian David
What was there before the Big Bang? The very idea of ‘before’ is meaningless as there was no time. What is it beyond the curved boundary of space? And what meaning can the notion of ‘beyond’ have when there is no space? It does not exist. It is just the Nothing. But it is a very strange sort of Nothing since everything that is comes out of it.
Julian David trained as a Jungian analyst at the Jung Institute of Zurich. He practises in Devon and is Chairman of the C. G. Jung Analytical Club, London.

The early Theosophists were pioneers in attempts to develop higher forces in humanity, inspired by both eastern and western imitates. Some of the most important research was carried out in Britain by such workers as William Crookes, Dr and Mrs Bendit and Arthur Ellison. Where are the centres of such research today?

VISIONS & PROPHECIES
by Eric McGough

The End Times, 2012, Armageddon, Resurrection, Return of the Christ, the New Jerusalem, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Can the future be predicted accurately? What can we make of the Book of Revelation or the prophesies of Nostradamus? Some would have it that there is only 'now' - no past or future - but H. P. Blavatsky tells us that 'now' is an illusion and that all is memory!
Eric McGough is National President of the Theosophical Society in England. He is also author of the audio course, Life after Life, and is a conscious explorer of the inner planes.

IS THIS HEAVEN?
by Derek Thorne
Heaven and hell is in the mind. No doubt this is true yet irrespective of the joys and freedom of a liberated mind there is still a physical reality to be experienced and endured; birth, ageing, decay and death and all the stages in between. The world does not provide a carefree passage. So what is this life for? It is for engagement, an encounter with destiny. Either embrace it or reject it, it must be faced. The key question is who faces it? The answer to this is indeed heaven. The practices of Jnana Yoga reveal that heaven.
