THE SECRET DOCTRINE
by Viktor Hangya
speaker In the midst of today's materialism and the ruins of old religions join us in our 'mining' of the perennial wisdom. Our sourcebook is the Secret Doctrine, which claims 'logical coherence and consistency' and should be treated as a 'working hypothesis'. The SD sheds light on some of life's greatest mysteries.

Viktor Hangya has been exploring the Ageless Wisdom for more than 20 years.

GNOSTIC CHRISTIANITY
by George Wood, Ron Wallwork
Gnosis is the Eternal Knowledge of the Heart offered to sincere seekers through a chain of Esoteric Brotherhoods. The impulse of Gnostic Christianity is one such link in the chain. We shall be looking at how the flame of Gnostic Christian thought has been passed down through philosophy, the arts and literature.

10 Feb: Forms of Gnosticism from Antiquity to the Present - Gnostic thought flows like an undercurrent throughout world history and has undergone a recent upsurge in popularity.

24 Feb: The Cathars, the Knights Templar and the Inquisition - A look at the teachings of the Cathars and The Knights Templar and examination of who was really behind the Inquisition . (includes video)

10 Mar: The Gnostic Christ: Fact, Myth or Fiction - We explore the Gnostic understanding of ‘the Christ’ from a physical, spiritual, allegorical and ultimately individual perspective.

24 Mar: The Gnostic Gospel of Judas - This Gospel presents a radical reinterpretation of the spiritual relationship between Jesus and Judas and could provide the key that turns the lock for true liberation of the soul.

CARL JUNG - THE RED BOOK
by George Wood
speaker 1, 15 Feb; 1, 15, 29 Mar
"The years of which I have spoken to you when I pursued the inner images were the most important time of my life. Everything else is to be derived from this." (C J Jung 1957, extract from Red Book). Carl Jung considered The Red Book to be his most important work. However only a handful of people had ever seen it until its first publication in 2009. This study group will systematically read and discuss The Red Book - a truly numinous spiritual magnum opus of gnostic wisdom.

Leader: George Wood is a former teacher of Religious Education who has regularly led courses on Gnostic Christianity.

LIFE BEYOND THE GRAVE
by Eric McGough
speaker Sooner or later we are all going to die, yet we know very little about what will happen to us after death. The world’s religions have their individual doctrines, spiritualists and New Age groups have various beliefs. ‘Communications from beyond the grave’ have been recorded in different forms but for the majority of people there is only uncertainty. Theosophy offers a full and illuminating account of not only the after death states but of the entire cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

Eric McGough - National President of the TS in England is author of the audio course - Life after Life and a conscious explorer of the inner planes.

ATLANTIS & THE GLOBAL WARMING CYCLE
by John Gordon
speaker Despite the widespread belief that the current global warming is a man-induced phenomenon, there is plenty of scientific evidence on record to show or at least indicate that it is actually a fairly regular or even cyclic phenomenon. This talk will examine perhaps the most probable cause - associated with the Precession of the Equinox cyce - and the effects not only of geological and geographical change but also those connected with the very origins and appearances of human civilisation.

John Gordon is the author of The Rise & Fall of Atlantis, published in 2008, and described by Colin Wilson as "undoubtedly one of the best books on Atlantis ever written".
