Theosophical Gallery Tours

London’s Galleries and Museums are a storehouse of all the world’s riches, many of which have meaning from a Theosophical perspective. Though I am not an expert in any of these topics, I hope that a small group can pool our understanding and sensitivity to art and history (and have a nice cup of coffee too)

I am leading another short series of visits to galleries for members of the TS, enquirers or friends to investigate the following ideas:-

  • Monday 22nd September - Tate Britain, Millbank – “Blake and Turner’s – The Light in Britain”

  • Monday 13th October – British Museum “Gods and Goddesses of all cultures”

  • Monday 10th November - Tate Modern, Bankside  “Theosophical Artists - Klee, Kandinsky, Mondrian”

  • Monday 8th December - National Portrait Gallery – “Heroes and Villains”

We will meet at 2pm at the relevant main entrance - phone George McNamara on 078 8181 3242 to catch up if you are delayed. You can also email George on george@whatever-will.be for more information.

Scheherazade
And the Healing Power of Fairy Tales

A ONE-DAY RETREAT at St. Francis Hall
TEKELS PARK SPIRITUAL CENTRE in Camberley, Surrey

We think of Fairy Stories as innocent childhood delights. But, like myth, these stories have hidden powers, powers capable of touching regions within us that other, more sophisticated narratives, often fail to engage. They touch, in other words, those deep aspects of our psyches that generally lie shrouded in primal darkness. In doing so, they bring into play archetypal figurations that re-inform our consciousness of ancient attitudes, fears and longings belonging to our distant past as human beings. These ‘primitive’ psychological aspects, though now estranged from consciousness, never cease to affect us and our relationships, in ways we simply cannot envisage.
